More Risk stories
I always looked like I could do assignments…so one person approached me to give me a Job. I was not exactly looking for a job, I was looking for assignments. This must have been late 1990s.
So this stupid man/woman suggested one company – I just found that it is no longer in existence – Sun Earth Ceramics. This adviser used to earning a commission for doing a trade chased me. I was somehow not comfortable. So I asked her to send me the balance sheet, and ITS CURRENT LIST OF LENDERS…
At least she was dumb (not honest as later events proved)…she did send me the list. I was amused. I spoke to Bajaj Auto, Parle, LnT finance – the big lenders of those time. One of them gave me the number of one of the brokers who entertained this company. I got a list from him.
THE LIST OF LENDERS WAS MORE THAN THE figure in the balance sheet. I was amused.
Then the promoter called. We spoke…I was offerred “Vice President – Finance and Operations” and a salary of Rs. 18L p.a. Not bad I presume?
the ‘agent’ was forcing me to ‘accept’ the offer. I later learnt from a common friend that she had ‘negotiated’ a fee of Rs. 5L for ‘recruiting’ me.
Well, it did not happen, in short.
I told her “it is better to be unemployed rather be in jail “.
So I escaped one more shity risky stuff….
