do dividends matter in wealth creation?
well you find many wealth studies – some say yes, some say no.
Let us look at the numbers…here is a calculator, but for those of us who are too lazy to use the cal..here are the numbers:
If you go back to 1896 and had invested in DJIA – Dow Jones- and invested US $ 1 how much would it be worth in 2014?
well it would be ……………
If you don’t count dividends, you end up with $437.43. Excellent.
If you do count dividend reinvestment? Well – it’s a whole other ballgame; you end up with $84,638.46.
Do you notice the small difference? LOL…
why would somebody do a wealth study ignoring dividends? sheer laziness.
