How to slowdown: Stop Over Eating
Easier said than done. I travel extensively but ONLY within India. This means flights surely less than 3 hours. Now take 1 hour journey and a 1 hour waiting for the plane to board..and 1 hour to reach the destination. All it means is about 6 hours. Can I stay for 6 hours without food? Of course I can.
Do I eat in the flight? Of course I do. Do I expect the food to be good? No. Not unless it is Vistara, but that is a rarity. Do I eat in Indigo, Spice Jet, and Jet Airways? Yes, I do. And I crib about it being bad. Jet in the latest Raipur – Mumbai flight gave food which I could not eat more than 2 bites. That is a different story…but why do I eat? Simply because I am on a ‘See food diet’. I do not eat….I do not NEED to eat…but when it is put before you..you succumb. Back to the 20,000 year old story..we want more of everything..especially food..
What can I DO TO REDUCE THE FOOD INTAKE?
- Enroll on www.myfitnesspal.com and track what you eat – do it on a regular basis – daily.
- Eat slowly – the more you chew and slower that you chew the less that you will eat
- I prefer small hotels where you see the owner, chat with him, and he tells you what to eat
- Have not been to McDonalds more than 2 times
- CCD is for meetings and having coffee without sugar
- Travelling takes me to starred hotels – where I succumb. Note to self: follow it by a fast 🙂
- Avoid corporate lunches and dinner – 5 star nonsense partly avoided
- Avoid high variety meals – you will get bored eating the same stuff
- I prefer eating salads at home – and avoid at hotels
- I eat 2 idlis or fruits when I hit a hotel breakfast.
- ITC, Taj top end hotels have such a breakfast spread that I put a time limit 🙂 still does not help 🙂
- Make mealtimes sacred
- Eat without a screen. No phone. No ipad. No TV. Just food. Just family. Or friends. but no electronic shit.

One will only realize the value of health when he/she is hit with something hard… following the diet and exercising should be inculcated right from 20’s which will only do for our own self.

Love the time limit for a Breakfast buffet. I should set that whenever I hit any such buffet never thought about it 🙂 Agreed on myfitnesspal, have been very useful.
