The answers depend on the questions…
If you are a trained criminal lawyer with a lot of experience, or even an ordinary lawyer, you realize the sequence of questioning. Of course if you know how to conduct IMPARTIAL market surveys you also know that. Rahul Gandhi is of course not trained well enough, so he did what he was told to do Pappugiri.
Once you go to a reasonably smart audience, you need to know how to sequence your questions:
- Do you think India is a great country to live with a great historic and a good culture?
Answer: Yes, of course.
2. Would you all like to be in India to make a great career in helping the country?
Answer: Yes, of course. (forget what they do in a group they will surely say this)
3. Do you think we need to keep India clean?
Yes.
4. With Swacha Bharat Abhyan has India become clean?
No.
5. Do you think Make in India is producing enough jobs in India?
No.
6. Should India be more tolerant?
Yes.
7. Are you worried about the increasing incidence of violence?
Yes.
8. Do you think Swaccha Bharat is working? Do you think Make in India is working…?
No.
9. Is India becoming more Intolerant?
yes.
Now if you are a Modi supporter, you OBVIOUSLY want to hear something else at the end of the conversation, so you word your questions as follows:
- Do you think India is a great country to live with a great historic and a good culture?
Answer: Yes, of course.
2. Would you all like to be in India to make a great career in helping the country?
Answer: Yes, of course. (forget what they do in a group they will surely say this)
3. Do you think we need to keep India clean?
Yes.
4. Do you think it is important to increase awareness about cleanliness in India?
yes.
5. Do you pledge to keep your house, college campus, road, building and colony clean?
Yes.
6. You think You and Me together can make Swachha Abhiyan work…
YES, OF COURSE!!
(Imagine saying No after saying all those feel good yes from 1-5!)..
I hope you get the hang of what I am saying. This is not a political post, and I do not care whether Ra Ga is popular or not popular. This is a post to warn you how your views are being manipulated by the media. In most cases you are unlikely to know the truth. The Aamir interview has to be seen in full to know whether he really meant that he is planning to leave the country. The Ra Ga speech has to be watched in full to know whether he spoke sense. However, even our ministers react to media reports without seeing the full details. The Dadri killing – again there are so many theories of the killing, that we have only some sketchy media reports.
So the lesson is simple. When you see some media report, go into the details. It could be dramatically different. See how you react to the news and to the full facts.
Now come to investing. You hear Godrej properties is launching a big project and it is expecting to sell RE worth Rs. 1000 crores to start with. Go into the details..how many sq ft., rate psf, …and suddenly you may realize that the Godrej properties shares are a better buy than a flat in that project. Just kidding.
Just urging you to get into the details of a project….and do your do diligence. Read carefully, see the sequence of questions…

Nicely articulate… Hope Ra Ga will prepare himself better next time ;

Objection your honour!
Counsel is leading the witness with his questions
Request to strike them off the record as they are incompetent, irrelevant, immaterial and argumentative

can’t agree more on this, getting into details and knowing more are very important to judge things.
