People post 40 or 45 who have lost their jobs in this market are really in bad shape. Most of them
1. need a place to go to where people will call them Sir
2. need a salary on the 1st of the month
actually the 2nd is sometimes not as important as keeping up the premise of being employed…read on what happens to people

Very true. In these days, one has to remain employable all throughout the working life. Judge your effectiveness on job all the time. Companies are not loyal to employees like the old time.
Many bosses forget this and become useless. Just doing the routine work of monitoring. Creativity has no age bar. Companies which allow employees switch jobs inside, unlock this potential of the people.
