Mind Without Fear: Rabindranath Tagore’s Birthday!
On the 150th birthday of Rabindranath Tagore, here is a poem which all regulators in the world could use! Deven Your comments?
Obviously it is Tagore’s most famous offering – Mind Without Fear (Gitanjali). It is of course inspiring. Words in brackets are mine…
Mind Without Fear
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free; (and not paid for by manufacturers and distributors of financial products)
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls; (called banks like Goldman Sachs)
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection; (perfect for the client, not the manufacturer!)
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action—
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.
the temptation to replace the word country with WORLD is too strong. US needs financial education as much as India does. So would Greece, Portugal, Spain, UK, France….(Have i got the order correct or is it France and then UK?)
L O L!!
Happy Birthday Mr. Tagore, you are so lucky you are not here to see what is happening.
